• The Strike-Out, Beer Bringin' King;

• The Three Home Runs in one game by One Player: PG Sports Park  

• Change jingling in the pockets of our second pitcher, while running the bases;

• Flying back from LA just to play a Softball game..With his uniform on under his suit

• The 15 Error Game..One Player; one set of glasses; two sets of contacts: PG Sports Park 

• The 100 Runs scored in one doubleheader, without 4 of our best hitters: Watkins #5  

• Double Play relay, thrown by our shortstop, intercepted by the face of an arms up, open-mouthed opposing ball player (the Blood was spectacular!): Watkins #2  

• Someone (a pitcher?) inhaling the chalk line after trying to catch a foul pop, but running into opposing player: Fairland Regional  

• Pants pulled UP over someones chest (had to see to believe!!   )

• "It's a shot up the middle for a base...Whoa..Mark Rypien (Yes, that one!) snags the ball, does a 360, fires to 1st...In time..by two steps over our fastest runner! WOW! :Watkins #1  

• The oldest, young guy you ever saw!

• Frederick, anyone?

• Are we competitive? You bet. Consider at our post season party, we broke our coach's exercise cycle and a light over the ping-pong table!

• "The rule book states......"

• "Hideous!!!"

• During a long layover of a tournament, someone went home, fell asleep, and the team forfeited their last game. He received phone calls for the next year, with alarm clocks going off on the other end: Rips 

• Two opponents trying to run over our catcher in one game (he's 6-6 and 260 or so!  ) bouncing off him, landing flat on their backs, wondering how this was possible: PG Sports Park   ;

• Two Strike-outs (looking!!!  ) with bases loaded, two outs, and already had hit homers in the tournament: Ocean City [Ocean Pines} 

• We had a sub for a tournament, who didn't show up (helping an injured friend, he says..) and who never showed up,even though we were only a couple of blocks from his hotel! Ocean City

• I'm still wallowing in my Orioles and Redskins funk (even the Braves choke every October!). Sorry but will have to give my regrets for the party...I'm not exactly down the street from you guys {No! I Thought you'd want to present the "Turk O'Connell Award yourself!!?? Don't you have a private jet yet?}. Have fun.

  My favorite story of all time revolves around my good buddy Bernie Stehle. You remember we used to have the rule that if you:
  

  1. -struck out
     
  2. -grounded into a double play
     
  3. -popped out with man on third and less than two outs
  
  you had to bring a case of beer for the next week.{Ain't nothing changed about that, Turk. Check out the beer rules, even better, and more refined now!}

  Since Bernie was "King" of the long (foul) fly ball {Still is} he was always technically striking out. Thus when Bernie got two strikes on him I remember the team standing in unison at the fence all making the sound of a cold beer getting popped open, putting more pressure on Bernie for that next pitch. This also brought us closer together as a team, and ensured that our team priorities were in order (free beer first, team success second, Bernie's Batting Average... last)!

  My least favorite memory of those glory years is that Bernie never paid up...I'm still waiting.
