Finally getting around to updating these empty pages.

Here it is, my fav yo:

What can I say. It's the best yo I have, or have played at *ANY* price. I've played Cold Fusion GT's, Mondials, SBII's; The Spin FaKtor hangs with ( I'd say above ) all of them, and for less than 50% of the price. Can't beat it.

CONSTRUCTION:

It's a rim weigthed butterfly profile with an adjustable gap. Interestingly enough, there are no spacers; the bearing rests on machined out plastic cylinders of the yo-yo halves. This is nice as there are no loose parts to loose in the extremely unlikely event of a surprise uscrewing. Even the bearing itself is captive on one yo half, it actaully takes a bit of force to remove the bearing. All quite different form all the other bearing yo's that I have, or have seen.

The plastic is extremly hard and dense, perfect for a yo-yo. After two + weeks of hard play, the is no hint of wear typical to the other plastic yo's that I have. The gap adjustment is a friction type, probably a nylock nut arrangment. When I first started throwing it, it was extremely tight, this will fade a bit as you go through several screwing and and unscrewing cycles. As far as I can tell there is no gap creep from hard play.

The rim weighting makes all the differnce in the world for this yo. It's two aluminum rings are permanantly afixed to the plastic body. There are to rubber rings that reside in grooves in the aluminum for yo and yoer protection. The plastic portion of the yo is actaully their Dragon Jam yo-yo -- wich I hear is as great to use in most cases as the SpinFaktor. I prefer a rim weighted yo for getting that extra spin time on string tricks.

One other peculiar item of construction worth going into some detail is the braking system. It deosn't have your typical star-burst, instead it has four .150" dia shallow holes, about .010 inch deep in the surface of the yo. At first glace one would say this would make for poor responsiveness. Untrue, the responsiveness is extremely postitive. However, over time lube will be required to keep it responsive -- but that's typical of any bearing yo. Where this braking system really shines is on string tricks where there are more than one string layer in the gap. Where other typical starburst yo's will start rubbing the string, which traanslates to loosing spin time, usually you can hear this, the SpinFaktor just, as it's name implies: spins, spins, spins.
