Joshua was born on June 11, 1978, in Vancouver, British Colombia. He lived in California until he was eight, then he and his family moved back to Vancouver. Joshua's mother is a casting director, and she brought him to an audition, hoping to dissuade him. But it covinced him that he wanted to act. In Vancouver, he launched his professional career as an actor and appeared in a series of TV commercials promoting tourism in British Columbia. The commercials for British Columbia Tourism led to a part in the television series MacGyver, which was shoot in Vancouver.Joshua made his big-screen debut 1991, in the film Crooked Hearts, where he played a young boy named Tom. Soon after this, he got a part in the Disney Film "The Mighty Ducks". Here he played Charlie Conway, the coach's prodigy and the team's voice of reason. He was also in the two Mighty Ducks sequels.It was during the filming of one of the Ducks movies that he got kicked out of school for lack of attendance. He was kicked out of school a second time due to behavior.He also made his stage debut in 1991, in the Seattle production of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, where he played Charlie.Additional roles include parts in Andre, Digger, Magic In The Water and Apt Pupil. On the Television he has starred in Robin of Locksley, an updated version of the Robin Hood legend. He also had a lead role in a modern interpretation of Romeo and Juliet called Ronnie and Julie. Additional TV credits include a recurring role in the series Champs and a guest role in The Outer Limits.
