As promised, here's a story involving Adam Copeland (now known as Edge in the WWF)...

I met Adam about a year and a half ago. At the time, he was wrestling as Sexton Hardcastle, and he and another wrestler by the name of Christian Cage came down to the southeast U.S. for a two-week tour in November of 1996. They had several bookings lined up during their stay, but one of the bookings was canceled the day before the show. We scrambled to get them a booking for that night, and the closest we got was a "come to this show and I will put in a good word for you with the promoter to try and get you booked on the show". So we showed up at the show, and talked to the promoter. He ended up putting Hardcastle & Cage on the show, and they agreed upon a dollar figure.

So they go out for their match, teaming up with one another against two of the regular wrestlers for the promotion, and they absolutely tore the house down. All the other wrestlers on the show were standing at the dressing room door, peeking through to try and get a look at them. They were that good even a year and a half ago. After the match, they asked the promoter for their money. The promoter said, "I'll be right back", and did his best to disappear. For a good thirty minutes, they tried unsuccessfully to get their money. So when intermission came, they walked out of the dressing room, and were immediately swamped by fans wanting their autographs. As they signed each autograph asked of them, they politely explained to the fans that the promoter didn't seem to want to pay them. Within 10 minutes, dozens of fans went up to the promoter and demanded that he pay them, and it worked, as the promoter eventually did pay them.

Adam Copeland was trained by Ron Hutchinson at the famed Sully's Gym in Ontario, Canada. He has wrestled throughout Canada, and has made numerous appearances in various areas throughout the U.S. over the years. Whoo! wishes him the best of luck in the World Wrestling Federation.
