Kidman News

7/20/99 - First off, that was one heck of a Nitro that WCW gave us yesterday!! But on to Kidman's match against the "Macho Man" Randy Savage. I was really excited to see this bout taking place. Awhile back (before his Flock days), I read an interview of Kidman's that asked him who he would most like to fight in a match. His answer - Randy Savage. It's about time this happened. The match went on longer than I expected, but ended when Savage threw out the referee and landed not one, but two of his giant elbows on Kidman and Denise Rodman ran down for the save. And even though it was a set up match for Rodman vs Savage, Kidman still put up a lot of great offense. WCW seems to at least be trying to close the status gap between the young and old wrestlers.

I've also heard rumors that Scott Hall will be forming a stable upon his return and that Kidman might be including. I don't know how reliable these rumors are and I won't take them seriously until I see action taken that indicates a head in that direction. Personally, I don't want to see him in another stable like the Flock where he gets shoved towards the back. I like to see him in the spotlight, in singles competition where he most shines. But then again, whichever gets him the bigger push ....

7/17/99 - The rumors going around about Kidman jumping ship and heading to the WWF can be put to rest, at least for now. He just signed a 3 year extension with WCW!!! YES!! (Sorry, but I'm not much of a WWF fan; if Kidman went, I'd watch it to see him, but I wouldn't like it =) Also, I've been assured that Kidman wasn't seriously injured on Nitro this last Monday. Thanks V, for sending that to me! (I didn't want to mention her whole name until I okayed it with her first.)

7/14/99 - I meant to post this Monday night, but as those of you who watch Nitro are aware, Kidman was hurt in a match with Steve Regal when his Shooting Star Press didn't go quite right. Either he slipped or misjudged the distance and was trying to avoid hitting the camera behind him, but he landed on the ropes and hit his leg pretty hard. I didn't want to post anything until I heard if the injury was serious or not. Apparently he had to be helped from the ring, but I haven't been able to find any follow up on it, so I hope it's a quick healer for him. But despite it all, Kidman STILL had the presence of mind to role Regal up for the pin. Fit Finley and Dave Taylor were ring side with Regal and naturally ganged up on Kidman during the match. Somewhere along the way the referee was knocked out and Bischoff made the count to give Kidman the victory. When Kidman was hurt, Bischoff was also right there by his side in a matter of seconds to make sure he (Kidman) was okay. I'm sorry this was so late in coming and it really wasn't much of a report, but I'm just settling in to my new job and new home, so give me a few more weeks to iron out the wrinkles in my personal life and I promise some decent updates . As for Kidman's condition, I WILL keep ya'll posted. As soon as I hear something, I'll make an update.

6/26/99 - Kidman and Rey Jr once again defeated Curt Hennig and Bobby Duncum Jr, this time at a Fort Wayne, IN house show.

6/25/99 - Kidman and Rey Jr defeated Curt Hennig and Bobby Duncum Jr at an Auburn Hills, Michigan house show.

6/21/99 - Tonight on Nitro, Kidman and Psychosis had the opening bout. Unfortunatley, the Macho Man and company couldn't keep their noses out and the match was thrown out when Psycho Sid Chokeslamed poor Kidman. After the Macho Man and Sid Vicious beat on Kidman and Psychosis for a few minutes, Sting finally came to the rescue! He helped Kidman to his feet and to the corner. Seeing those two together, I think they'd make a great team. They've got similar hair, similar facial features, and a similar build. Just put some make-up on Kidman and voila! Mini-Sting!! nah, I'd rather have Kidman as Kidman, but I still think they'd make a great team. Are you listening, WCW???

6/19/99 - After an extended absense, I'm finally back. Kidman has been around quite a bit more lately, but we'll just start with tonight. Kidman vs Rey Jr was the main event tonight on Saturday Night. Before the match, Kidman got on the mic and talked about how the fans didn't want to see Rey and he fight, but they'd rather see them on the same team. However, since it was a title match, and Kidman loves the extra chicks he gets with the gold, he said he'd fight the match and give it his all. Rey responded with pretty much the same thing. The match didn't go on long - a head scissor take over from each guy - when Kurt Hennig and Bobby Duncum Jr ran in and started beating on both of them. Naturally, Konnan made the save and in the end, the three of them stood in the ring together as WCW went off the air.
Also - there have been rumors going around that Rey, Kidman, and Konnan would form a stable with called the Filthy Animals. Kidman did make mention of Filthy Animals tonight when he refered to Rey, Konnan and himself, but this was recorded (either last Tuesday or the Tuesday before) and it seems as though the plan has been scrapped. Konnan and Rey will still be in the stable, but it will no longer be the Filthy Animals and will probably be with Master P's No Limit Soldiers. Kidman will not be a part of this group. Hopefully, WCW will put him in with the young talent vs old talent angle, which has a lot of great potentential.
