FOUL

Who are FOUL?

FOUL is an independent supporters organisation dedicated to publicising the real danger of closure that is facing Oxford United Football Club and working to ensure the survival of the football club. It was formed by a meeting of supporters on 10th November '98 at Oxford Utd. Supporters Club. The original FOUL committee that was set up at the first meeting was endorsed and formally agreed on by a meeting of FOUL members on 2nd December 1998.

Here's some more background on the individual members of the FOUL Committee:

Steve Hanks, Chair - Steve is a lifelong Oxford supporter who's been a regular at The Manor since the early 1960's. He now sits in the Beech Road with his family who are all season ticket holders but still fondly remembers the London Road in the 1970's. Steve works as an accountant at an engineering company based in Thame where he also lives.

Martin Brodetsky, Press Officer - Martin is a familiar fixture in the London Road and is best known for being the co-editor of the famous Rage-On fanzine. He lives in Oxford and works for the City's most famous charity. As press officer Martin is the one most often heard on local radio or seen on local TV.

Paul Beasley, Treasurer - Paul works for a well known high-street bank. He now sits in the Beech Road family section but still makes the odd nostalgic trip back to the London Road. A pre-match regular at the Butchers Arms Paul is better known by his Rage-On name, which for obvious reasons is "Thin Bloke"

Rob Hedges, Secretary - Rob lives in Kidlington but works at the John Radcliffe Hospital within sight of the Cuckoo Lane. A season ticket holder on the left side of the London Road, Rob has been supporting Oxford for longer than he can remember which is at least 20 years.

Mark Mallinson, Marketing Officer Mark is a season ticket holder in the Beech Road stand with his 10 year old son and 9 year old step daughter but started out in the Osler Road before graduating to the London Road (right side) in the late 70's. He has been supporting Oxford for over 20 years and lives in Thame. He works for a major software developer as a product manager.

Michele Rodriguez, Membership Secretary Although born in Oxford Michele comes from a Spanish family. She has supported Oxford since the 1980's and has a season ticket in the London Road. Michele's experience working with a local Software Company and database skills made her the perfect choice for membership secretary.

James Schall, Committee Member - James works for a computer games company and lives in Kidlington. He's a London Road (left side) regular who is perhaps best known as "Swiss Bloke" and is often seen with a Swiss flag at the bigger games. When not watching Oxford James is usually to be found playing ice hockey for a local amateur side.

David Pryor, Committee Member - David was originally a Beech Road "Shelfer" but has now moved into the seats with his son who has had a season ticket since the age of 4. David, who runs a well known Didcot based taxi firm has been coming to the Manor since 1970.

John Evans, National Co-ordinator - John, originally from Wrexham saw the light on moving to Oxford in 1983 and has been an avid Oxford fan ever since. John was the inspiration behind the club's Priority Pass scheme and claims he came up with the idea just for himself but has a London Road season ticket anyway. John works in local government and knows just about everything there is to know about ICL mainframe computers.

Frank Farrant, Committee Member - Frank is a season ticket holder in the Beech Road terrace. Born in Abingdon, he now lives in Cowley with his wife, their two sons and their daughter. Working as a Finance Director for a Witney based Company, he looks forward to the games where he regularly assists the linesman with his decisions.

Trevor Lambert, Committee Member - After a long apprenticeship as a fan of Northampton Town, Trevor moved to Oxford in the late 1970s and became a regular at the Manor in the early 1980s. A statistician working for Oxford University and living in central Headington, Trevor sits (and occasionally stands and gesticulates) with wife Sally and teenage daughters Rebecca and Debbie in the Beech Road stand.
