Sunday morning saw the Miss Madison on the water while people were shot
watching David Williams
(driver of the vintage Savair's Mist doctored up as the Miss Madison) drive by. In
real life, David is the
Executive Director of the Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum. In shot #13, Ernie King,
driver of the vintage
Atlas Van Lines, trailer fires while preparing for his turn on the course. Check out
the paint job in #15!
Shots 22 & 23 showcase actor Jim Caviezel as Miss Madison driver Jim McCormick riding
by the crowd. Hydroplane Museum members Roger Newton, Ike Kielgass, and Larry Fuller
trailer
fire the Notre Dame. Group meeting in #26 and water action showcased in 33 and on
(all five in 35).
Bud crew members Kenny Washer, Chuck Holmes, and Paul Hassfurder at work in #36 and so is
Bill Fisk and Bob Schroeder in #37. Bob is the owner of the Budweiser boat being
used in the movie.
Bill had his vintage hull "Irishman" in the pits that was used as a prop, which
he gave me a chance to sit
in (24 & 25) and in the Bud (29) - Chuck Moore style!! Thanks Bill!!
UHH-OH, the Ohio River
claims another victim in #39 that will delay Bud's action for a couple of days.
